Diana’s Notes

I want to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I am not sure when you will actually stop by for a visit here at Heartfelt Conversations with Diana, but in real time, it is Thanksgiving Day, 2024! WOW!! It feels like it was just July! Well, whatever day is it for you, I am super happy you are spending your time with us!

The past several weeks, we have been looking at the 9 fruits of the Spirit ( the characteristics of God)found in Galatians 5:22 -23

Why? Why are we learning these? God tells us that our basic faith is the beginning, salvation, when we receive Jesus as our Savior, but then we are to go on - to continue to develop in our new life and begin to walk talk look and live a whole lot more like Jesus, and God’s word tells us in Peter that these characteristics of God, the fruit of His Spirit - will complement our faith. Give us a good foundation.

Listen to the plea of Peter as he encourages us to embrace ALL that we have access to as God’s promise to us for a fruitful- blessed- abundant life

2 Peter 1: beginning with verse 5-11   The Message

5-9 So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, ( the fruits of God’s spirit we have been looking at)  spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others.

With these qualities active and growing in your lives,  no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.

10-11 So, friends, confirm God’s invitation to you, his choice of you. Don’t put it off; do it now. Do this, and you’ll have your life on a firm footing, the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Today, we pick up with the importance of Grain, in this “Holy Diet” of living well,  God has given to us, a lit path out of the darkness, the confusion, the paths that have been leading to nowhere, and finally on to the right path and it starts with the right directions, the right ingredients, the Fruit of God’s Spirit and the Bread of Life - Jesus is our Living Bread, the Bread of Life, Peter is telling us that when we fix our eye on the Living Bread - Jesus- that when we seek Him and when our relationship with Jesus matures because we now have our own experiences with Him, we’ve been through some stuff with Him, when we come to fully realize what we have actually been given, then we will experience to the full , a wholesome, fulfilling life that is satisfying and rewarding to us personally.

I am going to read out of God’s Word picking up in John Chapter 6

Now to kinda set the stage a bit, Jesus had just performed a huge miracle where He fed 5,000 men who had come to listen to His teaching. People say that with women and children who were also most likely present and the fact that the miracle included a couple of fish and some bread from a boy, I would say that would make sense. So if you added in the women and children, Jesus didn;t just feed 5,000 that was recorded in the records, women and children were not counted back then, but the number of the fed was probably more than over 10,000 - 15,000  people.

So, that is the backdrop, Jesus had been teaching ,the people were hungry, Jesus fed them  and because Jesus picked up on the chit chat going on throughout the crowd, the bible calls it murmuring, little whispers, then plotting, the crowd was about to turn into a mob,

John 6:14-15 Jesus feeds the multitude

When the people saw the sign that Jesus had performed, they began to say, “Truly this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

15 Then Jesus, realizing that they were about to come and make Him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by Himself.

…, so Jesus  slipped off by Himself and sent the disciples ahead of Him.

Verse 24:

So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went across to Capernaum to look for Him.

They found Him on the other side of the lake and asked, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”

In Verse 26 Jesus replies,  “ I tell you the truth, you want to be with Me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs. But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food/ Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given Me the Seal of His approval.”

They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?”

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you; Believe in the ONE He has sent.”

They answered, “Show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in You. What can You do? After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! The Scriptures say, “Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.”

Verse 32: Jesus said, “I tell you the Truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did.   And now He offers you the True Bread from heaven. The True Bread of God is the ONE Who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

“Sir”, they said, “give us that bread every day.”

Verse 35: Jesus replied, “ I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in Me will never be Thirsty. But you haven’t believed in Me, even though you have seen Me. However, those the Father has given Me will come to Me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God Who sent Me, not to do My Own will.

And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those He has given Me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. For it is My Father’s will that all who see His Son and believe in Him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

(John 6: 24-40)

Jesus, came to earth to fulfill the Will of His Father, that He not lose a single person who comes to believe, to see with their spiritual eyes, that Jesus is the Savior of the World, God’s Son. When God rescued the Israelites from the Egyptians, He provided manna, food from heaven to sustain them on their journey to the promised land.

We have the real food of heaven, the Bread of Life Himself, Who came from heaven to be our daily, living bread. To satisfy us with a good life, a life that feeds our soul. He is the Source and the Sustainer of all we hunger for.

I was once separated, lost from Jesus because I got hungry for fitting in with the world. But I was starving, unhealthy, eating in fields where the grains had no nutritional value for my soul, but He came to fulfill  the will of His Father, to not lose even one who would believe. I was resurrected, raised up from the walking dead into living eternally - Life as God would have for me, Zoe Life - now. Today and every day.

We all need to make some “bread” or at least we all enjoy the benefits of ‘bread”.

Bread used to be slang for money , like moolah!  Working for an income to keep a household going, working for the Lord, working to keep maintenance on our home, cars, housework, working is good - but we need to keep our works whatever they may be in the right order, especially when it comes to our faithwalk.

The world is made up of over achievers and under achievers - but as Joyce Meyer says - God calls us to be Believers not Achievers. That is the message that Jesus was trying to get across.

Live life… and life has all kinds of twists and turns and achievements to be reached and stretched for and accomplished. But, let’s not forget where our real Source of everything necessary for a good life comes from. The One Whom God sent, Jesus. Our Bread of Life

Today, many are enjoying a meal of thanksgiving together, some listening may be alone, or struggling to have a meal. We all have our own story, our own journey in this life that we are walking out. But one thing that we are all in need of is Life. Without life, we are dead. Right?? So, let’s learn to Trust God that He is True to His Word. Chose to Believe, chose to seek after His righteousness - Be hungry for Living Bread -

Matthew 5:6 tells us that Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. For they shall be filled.

Seek God first, Seek His will, His face, and His word says, you will be filled.

Do you want to be filled? Satisfied.

If you want Life, A plentiful life - abundant, ample, generous, a richer supply that can only come from heaven - then you must personally know The Bread of Life,

In John 10:10 Jesus says: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

God desires that we be healthy, whole, bold, courageous, zealous, energetic , satisfied. Filled. Content. And when we align our life with Him, we find that we are content, satisfied. No more hunger, no more thirst!

God does not want you to just cope and barely get through life, God wants you to thrive, to be whole, fruitful, blessed, to have an abundant life to the full overflowing beyond all you can even imagine.

Seek after the Lord with a humble heart. He wants to reveal Himself to you

Maybe we can’t be with our loved ones on Thanksgiving, maybe we don’t even like them anyway! LOL. Gosh! I hope not!! Our opinions should not be more than our relationships. It took me a while to figure that one out to be honest. Jesus came to be the Bread of Life for everyone. Even the people we don’t necessarily like or agree with. I hope we can all take a few minutes today, to thank our Sovereign God, Yahweh, I AM, The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, that we can humble ourselves on this Thanksgiving Day and thank Him for giving us the Bread of Life, Living Bread, that God offers each of us - eternal life . It is up to us to answer the invitation and come to the table.

This Thanksgiving Day - Let Us…….

(Let them)……. give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things

Matthew 5:6

John 10:10

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Psalm 107: 8-9

Let us give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things

Matthew 11:25-30

25 At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [I openly and joyfully acknowledge Your great wisdom], that You have hidden these things [these spiritual truths] from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants [to new believers, to those seeking God’s will and purpose]. 26 Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. 27 All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son [deliberately] wills to reveal Him28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST (renewal, blessed quiet) FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.”

Other Scripture to meditate on, let it roll over in your thoughts and heart:

Acts 3:19-20

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then, times of refreshment will come from the presence of the LORD, …

Philippians 2:12:

Continue to work out your salvation -  [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]

Foundation Verse

Romans 8:11

The Spirit of God, Who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Chrisr Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living in you. “

Prayer of Salvation

Jesus has given salvation, healing, and countless benefits to all who call upon His name. These benefits can be yours if you receive Him into your heart by saying this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You admitting that I am a sinner. Right now, I choose to turn away from sin, and I ask You to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I believe that Jesus rose again from the dead so that I may be justified and made righteous through faith in Him. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow You, and I ask that You fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare right now that I am a born again, child of God. I am free from sin and full of the righteousness of God. I am saved in Jesus’ name. Amen.
