Diana’s Notes

Alive in 2025

Hello! Everybody ! !! I am your host Diana, and welcome to today’s episode of Joseph: Scene 3. Stability Brings Ability. On heartfelt Conversations with Diana.

If this is your first time joining the conversation, we are glad you are here. Welcome to the conversation, and I hope you leave feeling uplifted, encouraged, and empowered to live your best life ever.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been studying Joseph’s life in the book of Genesis because Joseph is an amazing example of holding onto hope—hope not of anything in this world but hope in our Living God, Hope in our Savior Who came to be our Living Hope, Our Daily Bread, God’s Word in us when our lives are surrendered to Him.

Joseph had the greatest power we could ever have, faith, belief,  stability in knowing that we do not need to fight battles that God has already won. God has already defeated every single battle we will ever face when we place our hope and confidence in Him, then we do not need to become distressed when it looks like our life is about to unravel. When we allow ourselves to enter into His Presence,  in whom He is. Not ourselves, not our circumstances, not what we can see with our physical eye, not other people, but God, and God Alone has us in His Hands. When we can stand on that Truth, then we will have the ability to remain stable in any situation.  Just like Joseph.

Today, I believe God wants us to know that when we learn to trust Him it will be because we have found a firm foundation in Him. We have tested His goodness towards us and found it true - God IS Love!

1 John 4:8: But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:16: We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in His Love. God is love, and all who live in Love live in God, and God lives in them.

God’s very nature is love, love towards you!

Once we know He cares for us and is watching over us, then, like Joseph, we will have the ability, not in our stability, but in His.

God is stable!

Isaiah 33:6: (Amp Bible)   And He will be the security and stability of your times, A treasure of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the LORD is your treasure.

The word fear is not to be afraid of God, but to revere Him with Awe and Honor of Who He is. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Respect. Simple respect for God and others will dramatically begin to change our life in a more positive direction.

God is not narcissistic, He is not erratic, He is not disappointed in you or angry with you. He has one position toward you as His living creation, created in His very Image- How does God look upon you and your life, with absolute, unconditional LOVE!

Joseph had visions and dreams from God that I am sure he must have carried in his heart during the struggles, uncertainty, and the instability of this new life he found himself in. He must have clung to the hope of believing that surely if God did plant those dreams and visions within him, then surely God would see them through to fulfillment. Joseph, coming from generations of faith-believing men, knew that if God was involved nothing would keep his dreams from being achieved.

Pastor Eric asks us, what would it look like to be a champion of people and their dreams? How can we help others and encourage them?

Listen to the quote that Pastor Eric shared from David Guzik:      “A focus on our life dreams can be dangerous because we make the fulfillment of our dream the most important thing- we make it an idol. We think of Jesus as a way to accomplish our dream; we make Him an actor in our life story. Instead, we’re called to play our part in God’s unfolding story.”

The dream Joseph held onto so tightly to get him through years of hardships were not simply the dreams of Joseph from within himself. These were dreams, visions, that God Himself planted as “dream seeds” into Joseph’s heart, but it would take time to see the harvest of what God planted.  God was in the lead, Joseph simply followed in God’s unfolding story.

Joseph had full confidence his dreams would come to pass, not because they were his, but BECAUSE they WERE God’s. Joseph knew God kept His Word.

God watches over every word of His that he speaks. If God spoke it, it will come to pass.

Jeremiah 1:12 ESV

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My Word to perform it.”

It is so important that we know what God says because if He said it, He will perform it. Know God’s promises to you so you can speak them out over your life.

Spend time in prayer with God. Prayer is simply humbling your heart before God, praising Him for being Everlasting, faithful, Good, lay your heart before Him, be vulnerable, sincere, genuine, with absolute truth and nothing hidden from Him, ask Him to help you “see” through His Spirit living in you, and Ask in Jesus Name - believing He will show you and watch- be on the lookout for God to reveal Himself to you.

Pray every day. Meditate on His Word. Find a verse that speaks to your heart. Do a search on what is on your heart.

Example: Verses for when feeling discouraged-

type that in the search bar and bunches of verses will come up, or you can go to our website; heartfeltconversations.com and you can find a list of scriptures there to encourage you, to feed you and equip you with the power, and wisdom, and enlightenment that God desires for you to have.

When you learn to draw closer to God, you will find you draw closer to understanding and recognizing true freedom, real truth, genuine love. You begin to see the true you come alive and full of life and joy and peace.

You can be more loving towards others because you have learned that God intended for each of us to be different from the other. He loves to see all of us who are wired in our original uniqueness, learn to harmonize, come together in unison like a beautiful melody that stirs the heart and calms the soul.

And when we allow His word to become the melody of our heart, then no one can steal our song. It is unique to our relationship with Him. Our own rhythm- His Spirit guiding our spirit.

Luke 1:45 ESV / 13

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

We can be confident in knowing that if we receive a word from the Lord, that like with Joseph, God will fulfill it.

Are you with God? Have you given your heart to Jesus? Because if you have then you can be assured that there is nothing in your life God can not accomplish for you when you seek His ways above everything and everyone.

Put Him first and you will never be last.

Our hope, our confidence, our lives should not be entrusted with man, people, but with God.

Mark 10:27 ESV

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

So, Joseph has been sold. Once the favored son of Jacob, has now gone from being the favorite in the house, to having no house, no family, no future,But God intervenes on Joseph’s behalf and he finds himself the personal slave of the king of Egypt’s Commander, Potiphar. Potiphar’s own household and everything he owned was also blessed because of God’s favor toward Joseph.

And that is where we will pick up this week’s conversation. As we are learning to forgive others and demonstrate a life of integrity, honor, stability, and diligence no matter what our circumstances are -

because we trust God to see us all the way through; it is inevitable that our true enemy, Satan will slither in and somehow, someway try to cause chaos, disorder, destruction. Anything good being built, Satan wants to make it crumble and turn into ashes.

Our dreams, our visions, our self worth , our lives. He wants to turn our whole life into burnt ashes.

We are told to arm ourselves with the full armor of God - His Word- so that we can stand firm like Joseph when the devil comes sniffing around with his tricks …

Ephesians 6:11

Put on the full armor of God, so you can stand against the devil’s schemes.

God’s Word strengthens us so that we are not devoured by the devil’s tricks and snares because we have been living a life that is awakened and filled with God’s Spirit

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

It is also important that we have a very personal relationship with God so that we know what His Word actually says and are alert and prepared for the enemy's tricks and traps.

When we lay our life or whatever may be left on the altar to Him,  God will take the ashes of our lives and turn them into beauty.  Pictures of His grace, and love, mercy, and generosity towards us are painted in majestic colors all over our lives, when we trust Him and follow His ways.

Listen to the promise of Isaiah 61:3

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory..

When we receive Jesus as our Savior and learn to surrender our lives into His care, we become the children of God. As His adopted children through the blood Jesus shed on the cross, we are also partakers—joint heirs in all of the promises listed throughout the Bible.

Romans 8:17:  And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Suffering you say??? What is this suffering? LOL

Well, best I can figure, every day we learn to die to our self-focus, and we focus on what God has for us instead, it can feel like suffering! Every time I want to give someone a piece of my mind because their behavior or attitude was completely rude and unacceptable, I quickly remind myself that my words do not give life. Still, God’s doing, so don’t speak from an overblown sense of self-righteousness like we spoke about in previous episodes, but be generous in the words I chose, better yet, yield to the Holy Spirit and quickly call upon Him to give the right words.

When we can begin to change our reactions towards people to actions of God’s mercy and grace, we will, over time, begin to impact and influence the atmosphere around us. But until we have learned to “master” that particular muscle, it feels a whole lot like suffering.

Suffering is really us stepping back and not making everything about us. When shaped, molded, and in its fullness, suffering looks like humility.

Humility is acknowledging our need for God, submitting to His will, and recognizing our limitations. It involves trusting in His sovereignty and walking in obedience to Him. Humility is also a quality, a lost art, it feels like, to be respectful of others, and it  allows us to prioritize others over ourselves

I can remember times when God was molding, sanding, and shaping me, and it hurt! I had become so self-focused with my pain that the past was stealing my future. God loved, taught, and helped me get better, BUT!  I did not like it, and I could feel myself on the inside just throwing a temper tantrum, just an attitude not of gratitude, but of selfishness, an overblown sense of self-righteousness. It took me quite a while to stop arguing with God on some stuff, or stop negotiating with Him on other things, and I am really trying to go to Him FIRST, before anything or anyone. And when I do, it is a much smoother landing, and when I get cocky, it get’s really, really rocky! Life is a learning curve, so I hope you aren’t hurrying to fix everything wrong with someone else or yourself.

God is all about relationships. He loves you, and I hope you will learn the depth of His love, as I have come to rest in it.

Romans 8:39: (New Living Translation)

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I believe we can learn to allow the atmosphere around us to be filled with the very presence of God, bringing His Goodness everywhere we go, when we learn to allow His spirit to flow through us as we surrender our will to Him.

It seems so scary, but as I practice this for myself, I am learning that what I think I am sacrificing or giving up in my perhaps, rigidness, God has replaced with such sweetness in my life. The more I surrender the more I seem to receive an amazingly generous portion of His Goodness  pouring out from heaven’s window.

But we will never be able to see the full goodness of our Father if we continue to limit His power until after we die.

Meaning, a lot of people live as if God is in heaven waiting for us to die before He will actually get involved in our lives and the truth is He is Alive and Active right now. God never sleeps and He never changes. God today is exactly the same as He was in the days of Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, Joseph, Peter, Paul, John. We have just hardened our hearts and our spirits toward Him through 100’s of generations until we made Him like a distant relative we know about, but never really think about or plan to visit any time soon.

Psalm 90:2:   Before the mountains were born Or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God.

Psalm 100:5: For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

God’s goodness, His love, has never changed from 1 generation to the next, it is us, through the generations that have turned away from God. And when we get beyond our way of thinking and we plug in to God’s ways, follow them even when they are difficult, or we just plain don’t want to, but learning to have a surrendered heart because we are stepping out in faith that He will show up. That He is Who He says He is, then we unbox Him and He is able to demonstrate that He indeed is still an OVER POWERER Today, in this generation!

Psalm 89:13 – “Your arm is endowed with power; Your hand is strong, Your right hand exalted.”

God’s strength and authority are unmatched.  His sovereign power reminds us that He upholds all things. Trusting in His strong hand gives us confidence that His authority will protect, guide, and empower us in all situations.

When we learn to stand on God’s Word and on Who He says He is, then there, in that safe place of trust, will we find that no matter how hard life may try to tear us down, defeat us, or steal from us, when we have put our faith and trust in God, we will have His strength in us to steady our footing, we will keep our balance, and in Him, we have the ability for stability.

No matter what, it WILL BE a good day, simply because we have a GOOD GOD!

This is Psalm 89: 1 - 18

I will sing of the LORD’s unfailing love forever!

Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.

2Your unfailing love will last forever.

Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

3The LORD said, “I have made a covenant with David, my chosen servant.

I have sworn this oath to him:

4‘I will establish your descendants as kings forever;

they will sit on your throne from now until eternity.’”

Interlude

5All heaven will praise your great wonders, LORD;

myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness.

6For who in all of heaven can compare with the LORD?

What mightiest angel is anything like the LORD?

7The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God.

He is far more awesome than all who surround his throne.

8O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies!

Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O LORD?

You are entirely faithful.

9You rule the oceans.

You subdue their storm-tossed waves.

10You crushed the great sea monster.

You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

11The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours;

everything in the world is yours—you created it all.

12You created north and south.

Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon praise your name.

13Powerful is your arm!

Strong is your hand!

Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.

14Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.

Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants.

15Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship,

for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD.

16They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation.

They exult in your righteousness.

17You are their glorious strength.

It pleases you to make us strong.

18Yes, our protection comes from the LORD,

and he, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king.

I think Psalm 89 is so beautiful and should fill our whole being with comfort and encouragement. Hold on tight to God and everything will be alright! Find rest in knowing our Protection comes from Him.

So…

In Potiphar's house, Joseph quickly rose to a position of trust due to his diligence and the evident blessing of God upon his work. Genesis 39:2-4 states, "The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the LORD was with him and made him prosper in all he did, Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household and entrusted him with everything he owned."

Now, I’m not sure what Potiphar had Joseph doing, but the dude was ripped! He was a good-looking young lad who was attractive, which made Potiphar’s wife take notice. Uh oh!

And that is where we will have to leave it for today. Man, the time went fast, but thanks for stopping by and tuning in to today’s episode. Next week we will pick right up with the next scene of Joseph and the wife of Potiphar.

Remember! You do not have to be overcome with evil and bad in your life!  God is for you!!! He is the Power above any other power and that same power is available to you.

Romans 8:31 in the AMP Bible tells us: What then shall we say to all these things? Who can be [successful] against us if God is for us?

Got it?  Stand on Romans 8:31 this week. Let it bring peace and comfort to you. There were many things that looked like life was against Joseph, but Joseph knew to be still and let God be God.

Prayer of Salvation

Jesus has given salvation, healing, and countless benefits to all who call upon His name. These benefits can be yours if you receive Him into your heart by saying this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You admitting that I am a sinner. Right now, I choose to turn away from sin, and I ask You to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I believe that Jesus rose again from the dead so that I may be justified and made righteous through faith in Him. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow You, and I ask that You fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare right now that I am a born again, child of God. I am free from sin and full of the righteousness of God. I am saved in Jesus’ name. Amen.
